Time for an Update

Warning: Long Post

Sean-

Is thoroughly enjoying his LAST semester here at Utah State. He is taking a nice mix of classes, ranging from Entrepreneurship II to...ummm, what's that game called where you hits balls with sticks? No, seriously, I'm drawing a blank...ehhh- Billiards! Whew. That was painful. Other great school-related news is that Sean received a letter in the mail yesterday announcing that he made the Dean's List last semester! Way to go Sean! I really am so proud. Sean has learned all kinds of neat things these last four and a half (that's a guess, I'm not interested in facts) and I have learned that nagging produces nothing more than an irritated husband and a fussy wife. I'd like to think I've toned it down over the last 4 years but I guess Sean will have to be the judge of that. Either way, we are both delighted to be this close to the finish line.

Sean is also wondering what he will be doing with himself once he graduates and where he will be taking us. His major is Business Management with an Emphasis in Marketing and he is hoping to stay working in the outdoor gear industry, either in marketing or as a company buyer. We have a few leads at this point, but nothing concrete. As far as where we go, we are open to the idea of leaving UT for a few years, but we'd be happy to stay too. We both want the 'outside' experience, but I think at this point we're more concerned about getting a job more than we are about what state it's in. We'll see.

In addition to being a good student, Sean is also always on a quest to have a good time. The two things that make him the happiest are being with friends and family and living it up in the outdoors. We're not big fans of the winter, as previously noted, but in his attempt to further embrace the cold Sean got snowshoes for Christmas. A couple weekends ago we went up the canyon with one set of friends and four sets of snowshoes. We had a great time hiking up snowy trails, tromping across the frozen reservoir and leaping down powder-strewn hillsides. Sean used to hate the cold, but I think it's growing on him:)

Jessie-

I'm getting tired of writing, so my update is going to contain significantly less words. You've been reading for awhile, so I'm sure you're ok with that:) Since it is the Sabbath the topic on the forefront of my mind is my calling. I absolutely LOVE serving in the Primary. I know it's nowhere near close to having your own kids, but it is giving me the glimpse into the world of motherhood that I desperately need. The children are sweet and attentive some weeks, other weeks we are doing good if we can keep them from scaling the curtains in the back of the room:) Sometimes it feels that we have a higher quantity of crazy weeks, but the good weeks totally make up for it in quality.

My job- I work in the most unorthodox medical billing office this side of China's Great Wall. It consists of all female employees, several children, multitudes of toys, a swing set and sand box in the side yard, and (at times) a few dogs. There's NEVER a dull moment in the CBO and I pretty much couldn't be happier there. I have coworkers that keep the laughter coming and a boss that takes better care of us than our own mothers (well, almost). I'll be forever grateful for my position there. One great blessing associated with my job is that my boss allows me to take the time off whenever my medical trips to SLC come a callin'. This leads me into my last and final point of update- my fertility, or lack thereof:)

We started our fertility treatment back in November and, as of today, we know we'll be continuing on into (at least) February. The docs say to give it six attempts and if it hasn't worked by then another route should be explored. We are currently sitting at three. If I didn't know for a fact that our heavenly father knows us and has a plan for us I would probably be pretty frustrated, but I do know those things so we really are doing fine. I guess I shouldn't give the impression that it's not difficult at all. The frustrations do exist, they're just much more mild than I imagine they'd be without the eternal perspective that we are blessed with.

Ok, that was SO not as short as I was anticipating. Anyway, I hope that each of you is as happy and as grateful for your lives as we are, no matter how crazy life gets:)
