The best quotes in the world are those that motivate change, progress, peace, and love. We are going to start post a weekly quote that will come from any media, music, or other source in our life that we find to be worth of mentioning to all of you. You should be able to find each quote online, but this may not always be the case. I can't promise that you will always be moved by the quote, but one day there will be one that strikes a chord in your life.
If this does pretty well we will start to give prizes to the first person to guess who was quoted in the 'Quote of the Week'. As of right now we will give uplifting praise that is just as good as a gift in the mail.
This week's quote has actually been the quote for us for the last month or so. This is an easy one, but the message is strong:
"Don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing is gonna be alright. Singin' don't worry 'bout a thing."
Who said it?

Here we go...
This week we FINALLY took the leap and started Sean on his MS medication. We've both been pretty nervous to take this step. #1- who wants to stick them self with a needle everyday for the rest of their life, and #2- I feared it would make the diagnosis too real for comfort. After six months of skirting around the 'issue' we were finally forced to make a move when the pharmacy called Sean on Monday to let us know, "the medication is ready to be delivered, when do you want it?" "'Never' will be just fine" is what I would have said should they have asked me, but the boy said "How about tomorrow?" And that was that. The nurse came to our house the next day, helped us practice on a tomato a few times and then boda-bing-boda-boom- it turns out it's not that bad after all. Why do I always worry so much? The needle is pretty dinky AND it only goes into the skin about 1/4th of a inch. Sean does have to endure 10 min of fierce stinging around the injection site, but I think we've both decided that's a small price to pay if taking this medicine means we can slow the progression of the disease. Part of me thinks "man, I just spent six months worrying for nothing", but then the other Jessie says, "No, it just took this long to mentally prepare. You needed it." Either way, here we are and I think things are going to be just fine.
PS- And thanks to the beauty that is Cigna, we will only be paying $30 a month for a medication that costs several $1000 a month. I'm up to my ears in gratitude, that's for dang sure.

The Next Step, and Subsequent Fall
You remember the recent post on Sean's "Coast to Coast" adventure? Well he's really been getting into this biking thing and what with it being such a healthy hobby I've wanted to support him in it. This is why I didn't protest too much this weekend when he decided he wanted to move to the next level and buy those snazzy clip-in biker shoes. Tonight after work he stepped outside to give his new purchase a try. He wasn't out there very long when I decided it would be wise of me to follow him with my camera. After all, watching him try to ride around with his feet stuck to the petals could end up being pretty entertaining. I stepped out the door expecting to see him inching along the cement hallway outside our door, using the wall to prop himself up. I was wrong. He was cruising along just fine in the parking lot. I was so proud:)

I was somewhat bummed because I'd hoped to catch him 'learning' on camera, but he was already doing so well. "Eh, I'll video him anyway, simply because he's just so cute," I thought to myself. And that is when I got this...

Sean never was one to disappoint me:) PS- Don't be fooled, behind my laughter I really am feeling bad for him.

"A New Car!"
Ok, so we didn't win it off the Price is Right, but we did get a screamin' good deal. Although I do miss riding with Sean to work, it has been awful convenient having two cars:) Our new car it a 2003 Honda Civic and we LOVE it. The funny thing is that I sorta feel like we are 'cheating' on our green car. To make up for it I took the green car to a nice carwash the other day. No worries, I'm fully aware of how ridiculous that sounds, but it made me feel better nonetheless.

Coast to Coast- Utah Style
Last Saturday Sean and our buddy "Goss" rode their bikes from the northern coast of Utah Lake to the southern coast of The Great Salt Lake- an estimated distance of 40 miles, give or take.

Gearing up!

Helmets are a must...love that face Goss.

I was their designated 'drop off and pick up' woman. It was super hot outside so I chilled in the trunk while I waited for them to take off:)

Fresh and ready to go.

They literally wanted to start and end "IN" the water, so here they are "IN" Utah Lake.

They met some very nice wood figures along their way...

...and some 'pretty' worms. Who knew?

Bikes get tired too sometimes...

...but they usually don't smell as bad as tired boys:) Here they are at the Great Salt Lake, or a few hundred feet to the side of it anyway. One puny private road kept them from actually touching the water, but I say they definitely accomplished their goal. Good job guys!

Doughnut Falls: Now and Then
Back in high school (NINE years ago!) our group of friends could usually be found in one of three places- in a park, in one of our local Dee's Restaurants, or in the mountains. Today we went back to one of our favorite hikes from back in the day- Doughnut Falls. It was fun to take a trip down that infamous memory lane as we hiked the trail today. Here we are:

I was just thinking how fun it would be if I had some old pictures of our Doughnut Falls adventures, and then I remembered that I DO! The following pictures span both 2001 and 2002. Enjoy!

Ok, this is not a Doughnut Falls picture, but I couldn't leave it out. This is us camping, another favorite activity of ours. I'm not sure when and where this was taken. Kristin, any ideas?

Left to right: Kristin (Crofoot) Wheelwright, Dale Fairbanks, Trevor (Goss) Goss, Natalie (Tanner) Brown, Ben (Barney) Greenfield, Ali (Chaffin) Olsen, Ben Somsen, Jessie (Chaffin) Smith, and John Hustead. Man we had some fun, didn't we?

Settling In
July was an interesting month for Sean and I. I don't really need to spell it out because most of you that come here kept tabs on us all along the way. What matters most is that by the end of July Sean and I were back under the same roof, he got the job he wanted, I got the job I didn't know I wanted, but that heavenly father knew we needed ($30 Rx copays for drugs that cost $1000's/month), and the topper- by 6:30pm July 31st we had found a terrific place to live and a crew to move us in the very next day:) Thanks so much guys. I know my post always end up being super long, but I want to share photos of the fun things we did in July-
Meeting in the empty Holmgren lot on the 4th of July

Cliffjumping at Porcupine Dam the day after

Meeting and eating AGAIN in the empty lot for the 24th of July (2nd Annual:)

Cliffjumping (or water-wading in some cases) AGAIN at Porcupine Dam. Water sports are always more fun when floating animals are involved (you really know how to pick them Jackie:)

Probably one of my top 10 favorite 2009 events- Eating the Big Ephraim pizza in Bear Lake. Not only was the pizza GIGANTIC, it was also delicious...minus the anchovies of course (yes, Sean is eating an anchovie.)

Thanks for planning this John and Jenny:)
To top off the Bear Lake experience we went to matt and jackie's parents property, SOOO relaxing. How sad that we discover how amazing Bear Lake is the very weekend we move away from Logan. Live and Learn.
