Update #1-
In an effort avoid inheriting an overly voluptuous hind-end I have started working out more frequently. My usual routine, if you can call it a routine, was to go work out on the machines at the gym because I like to see how far I've gone and how many calories I've burned. I always leave the gym feeling good that I gave it my best effort, but a tad bit wimpy because it takes me so long to go such a short distance. This last week is when I learned I was capable of more. The weather was so great that I decided to take my efforts to the real pavement. I strapped on my sneakers, stepped out my door and thought, "I should run to 1st dam." The distance in total would be right around 3miles. All I had ever done at the gym was ONE mile (a little pathetic, I know). Anyway, long story short- I DID IT! It was so awesome! It kicked my 'getting large' butt, but it felt so good! The next day I 'ran' about 2 miles and then NEXT day Sean and I went on a 7ish mile bike ride on a hilly dirt trail. These experiences taught me that we are all really capable of more than we give ourselves credit for. And since a post isn't a post without a picture, here is what Sean saw me bring home from the gym one night,

"You gotta do what you gotta do." is all I had to say. I guess Sean decided I was a silly girl because here is what I found on the table the next day when I came home from work. I have a good husband:)

Update #2-
I got a new calling. Can you guess what it is?

Update #3-
My sister has been gone for a whole month now. Life is sad and nearly pointless without her near, but I am making do:) All our life Ali has been the one who knows how to get the job done and I have been the one that needed help getting the job done...hence the reason we work so well together. Anyway, last August she taught me how to make peach jam. It was so delicious! I loved it so much that we went for months without any jam at all when it ran out because I couldn't get myself to buy 'store jam'. I hoped we could make the jam again this year before Ali moved, but life was a tad bit busy for her so we didn't get around to it:) I really wanted the jam again, but I was bummed to have to do it without her supervision. The update is that last weekend we utilized the beauty that is the telephone as Ali helped me to make my jam from her current location in PA:) Thanks for your help Al. It actually didn't turn out as well as last year's, but it is still tasty:)

Update #4-
Lastly, but certainly not leastly--Sean and I went to our Reproductive Endocrinologist this last Friday and it is officially official- this coming November (some time near the end) we will be going to their office in hopes of getting pregnant! We are pretty dang excited. We are, of course, not sure that the scheduled method (AI) is going to work out, but it is the answer that seems to make the most sense right now given our circumstances. They say each attempt only has about a 15-18% success rate, but that's about 15-18% better than the method we are currently trying, so we're willing to take a shot:) Heh. Anyway, thank you all for the love and support you have given over the years...we will be sure to keep you all posted.

Meet some of our new best friends. Ya, we are going to be relying on these little sticks a whole heep for the next few months. Does anyone know if there REALLY is a difference between the generic and the name brand, aside from the $30 difference?

If you're in the Primary, you're gonna have to get over that one little quirk of yours because there's going to be other things that will make you nuts But congratulations! It's a trying job, but so rewarding. Good luck!
Yeah about the fertility! Call me, we can chat and I can tell you a few things I know, haha! That really is so exciting!
Nice job with the run! I feel the same way that you really never know what you can do until you try. I would say there is no difference between store brand or name brand so save the 30 dollars. Although you might want to ask your doctor I would hate to be responsible for screwing something like this up for you. If they say it doesn't matter like pregnancy test they do sale some at the dollar store along with pregnancy test that DO work. That is how I found out I was prego with both my children and only spent a dollar.
love the loaded update! I'm excited for you and your upcoming plans in November...we'll be around to help whenever!!
Hey Jessie! what a great update and I am so glad you feel comfortable enough to share your heart and struggles, It really does help those around you! Oh and by the way I don't feel there is a difference between the generic and the name brand!
You have had quit the month. Jess, I am so excited for you and Sean to be able to have kids. Keep us informed becaue you know, I still am your sister from another mother
Jess,
I'm so proud of you!!! You've done some many great things since I've moved. See, you don't need me around. I'm so excited for you bum to get smaller. Tam and I get up every morning, usually before 7 am, to work out. I'm learning that I CAN get up early and get something done. I laughed at your Mason jar. I wonder how many other people chuckled at it. Sean is a very thoughtful husband. And you're a resourceful wife.
Primary President!!! Wahooo!! You'll be great! I'm so jealous you have the new nursery manual.
Wonderful job on the jam, I wish I could have been there to do it with you. I miss harvest season this year. It started in Utah right as I left and ended right as I got to PA. Mostly it would have been great to bake some homemade bread and sit at the table with you and eat the whole loaf with peach jam.
Lastly, I'm so excited for you and Sean to start fertility treatment. I love you so much and miss you tons!!
Love the updates!!! I'm so happy your running, but very sad that I'm not there to join you. That would be a blast! It's fun huh? - well most of the time!
About the generic stuff... I'm sure it works just the same. For a pregnancy test I bought top brand and it didn't even work and then I went to the dollar store (thats right... the dollar store!) and bought a test there... well you know how that turned out! I'm so excited your starting fertility treatment! Keep us updated. And Yo, call us sometime!
Love you all a ton!
I'm totally stoked for you in all respects Jessie. First off, the running is fantastic. HERE'S TO NOT LETTING OUR BUMMIES CONTROL OUR LIFE! I also love the mason jar, and love even more how thoughtful Seannie is. He's a keeper for sure. Keep up the running and working out, you'll feel so good!
You are going to be an amazing Primary Pres. No doubt about it!
Sometime you and I should get together and make jam. I've NEVER made it, so you're definitely up on me.
And HUZZAH for the treatments! I am interested in hearing how the generic vs. name brand info go down though. Maybe you should do one month where you test out both and submit results! It's science!
I'll be praying for you! Hey where's all the pics from the lunch outing? That's so cool that you have such a sweet hubby...thoughtful, although the green is a little scary! A clear bottle may have worked! Silly!
You make me so happy!! I miss seeing you guys, and all our roomies. Good luck with the fertility treatments, and your new calling! That's awesome!
See you didn't bore people with a big blog. So many people were so very interested they all posted you a note. You are AWESOME. I love visiting with you so much. I am so excited for November!!
I am obviously the slowest one reading the post - I thought that you were using the mason jar for, um, putting liquid in, instead of out. Gotcha now. :)
Congrats on all of your other accomplishments.
Awesome Jess! I'm proud of you for getting up and exercising. I'm proud of you because I know you'll do a great job as Primary Pres. I'm proud of you because you've accomplished so much and it probably is likely we'll be prego together! yahoo!
